We aim to offer our tenants, our neighborhood, and the city of Windsor spaces of note.
"Built in the 1920s, there's something about the single-storey red brick structure." - Anne Jarvis, Columnist of Windsor Star
Ford City is the type of walkable neighbourhood that people are returning to. We believe that consistent, and focused work within a specific area is how the unique character and value within the neighbourhood comes to life.
Motor Developments is a real estate and property management company directed by Gino Gesuale and Jay Souilliere. It is located in Windsor, Ontario where the two were born and raised. Together these entrepreneurs have been operating various businesses since 1993. Their primary focus in acquiring property is to provide tenants with modern and inspiring spaces that are accessible to everyone.
In August 2014, as I was searching for a new location for our brewery, I was struck by the appeal of Ford City. The close knit, modest storefronts resembled something from another era. I came across this red brick building which was slated for demolition and had sat empty for well over 25 years. Despite its recent history and disheveled state, I still found myself drawn to it.
In 2015, we finally purchased the building from the City of Windsor with a vision of what it could become and the potential of revitalizing the neighbourhood.
Our vision was met with much excitement from the Ford BIA, as they had been working tirelessly to attract new business. Because we were the first in many years with plans to redevelop, the BIA felt it would "act as a catalyst for other properties to be redeveloped and more businesses to open along the main corridor." - Marina Clemens, former Executive Director of Drouillard Place
Preserving the character of the interior and exterior brick walls is paramount and will further add to the transportational feeling upon entering the building.
